Meet Lennox As Seen on BBC Scotland

Meet Lennox As Seen on BBC Scotland

Meet Lennox, one of Flour Power’s contestants. After the cameras stopped rolling, we asked Lennox some baking related questions and she was delighted to answer.

What is your name and position within Blue2 and Avian?

My name is Lennox Norrie, and I am a Business Development Manager within Blue2 Digital. My role here is to work with new and existing clients to translate their requirements into workable briefs. I focus on working closely with our clients to find the best solution for their needs and ultimately help businesses achieve their goals.

Where are you originally from and who inspired you to bake?

I am originally from Kirriemuir, a small town in Angus. My Grandad inspired me to bake. Most weekends we would make dropped scones (pancakes), fruit loaf, victoria sponges and cupcakes when I was younger. Although, to be honest, that was mainly him baking with me making a mess and eating batter along the way!

What is your first memory of baking?

My first memory of baking was again with Grandad when I was around 10. He let me pick a recipe from him “Be-ro” recipe book and make it all by myself. I decided to make Coffee Kisses. These ended in absolute disaster and resulted in a trip up to the town to the nearest supermarket to buy some biscuits instead.

What is your signature bake?

Banana bread, usually going right about 50% of the time that’s my best odds!

What would you like to bake but have never had the chance to try?

I would love to be able to make a three-tier naked cake, proper wedding style with flowers and berries all over.

What did you gain from taking part in “Flour Power”?

I now have a new signature dish (top secret until the program is aired). But let’s say my usual banana bread is well and truly out the window.

You can watch all our bakers as they compete for the Flour Power Trophy on BBC Scotland, 24th July at 8pm.
